At CMC Hardwood Floors we LOVE what we do and believe that working with hardwood floors is a true craft that requires knowledge and expertise. We are fully licensed, insured, bonded and certified by the National Wood Flooring Association – NWFA.
CMC Hardwood Floors, owned and operated by Marcos Proti, has been servicing the Los Angeles area for over 10 years. Marcos brought CMC to the West Coast in 2008 after starting his career in the hardwood floor industry on Martha’s Vineyard, where he worked on some of the island’s most exclusive estates.
In Los Angeles, we’ve had the privilege to work with some of LA’s top designers, builders and architects, including Johnston Marklee, Nickey Kehoe, RJC Builders, John Pawson and Walker Workshop, to name a few. Some of our notable commercial projects include the Room & Board furniture showroom in Culver City and the GAGOSIAN Gallery in Beverly Hills.
We pride ourselves on providing only the best for our clients, which includes top quality service and skills, the finest finishes and stains, and the best equipment the industry has to offer.
CMC Hardwood Floors specializes in dustless refinishing and installation, but we also offer a wide variety of services including custom designs, hand distressed, wire brushed for both residential and commercial projects. Something to note: we DO NOT work with laminate, bamboo, vinyl or any other types of flooring – only solid and engineered hardwood flooring products.

One of the hardest parts of choosing someone to work with in the construction and renovation trade is not being able to see the quality of work a business does until it's completed. It's not like you can walk through peoples homes and take a peek that easily.
Thankfully we have some of our work out in the public for you to take a good look at. We were honored to be able to sand and refinish a large section of the floor in the Room & Board furniture showroom in Culver City. Here's some of the before and after photos...

You can see the preparation we had to do to keep dust to a minimum. All our equipment was dustless too.

This floor gets a LOT of traffic, far more than your average home.But years later they still look great.
Please understand that these floors get very abused and see far more traffic in an average month than most normal wood floors would ever see in a lifetime. So no, they won't be perfect now... but you'll be able to see how the quality of our work and the durability of the products stand up over time.

Initial Meeting and Consultation:
During our first meeting, we will discuss your flooring needs and provide our expert opinion, along with the options we feel will yield the best results. During this time we will educate you on the process and timeline you can expect for the project.

Following our meeting, we will be in touch with an itemized proposal for your review. While we might not be the lowest bid you will receive, we promise our pricing is fair and competitive based on our expertise, products and equipment used and the fact that we are fully licensed, bonded and insured.
Products and Finishes:
After years of research and testing products in the field, we have chosen to use VOC FREE European Oils, such as Rubio Monocoat, WOCA and Loba ImpactOil, as well as LOW VOC Loba Waterborne water-based polyurethane, for our finishes. When our installation requires a glue down application, the adhesive we use is Wakol – the industry’s leading VOC FREE adhesive.
We are proud to stand behind and recommend these products as we believe what you put on your floors matters for the health and wellbeing of your family, and ultimately offers the best results.
We use Loba for our water-based finish systems.
Rubio Monocoat is our Hardwax Oil finish system.
Sanding Equipment:
CMC Hardwood Floors has invested thousands of dollars on the industry’s finest equipment. Our sanders are Lagler, made in Germany, as well as American Sanders. Our state of the art dustless system includes Festool vacuum systems and Oneida Air Systems, which will leave your home free of almost all dust.
