Cheviot Hills Wire Brushed Herringbone, PreColorEasy + Rubio Monocoat
Who doesn’t love golf? Well, that was not the reason we were at the Hillcrest Country Club. Our mission here was to install new hardwood floors in the newly renovated private hair salon. Their materials of choice for the Los Angeles project: herringbone white oak with custom borders and Rubio Monocoat PreColorEasy + Oil Plus 2C hardwax oil for the coating.
Our first challenge was fixing and leveling the concrete subfloor which was in a bad shape. After leveling it out, we applied the moisture barrier and snapped our lines which is crucial when installing these types of wood floors. Once we had the lines all calculated, installation was a breeze. We then glued the herringbone floors piece by piece using a VOC FREE adhesive made by WAKOL. After laying the floors, we marked our border line and cut the floors. The borders were then installed and tied into the wood floors. Now it was time to sand and finish the floors and the sanding process commenced. After the floors were sanded we wire brushed them to give that unique look. The floor was then stained with Rubio Monocoat Pre Color Easy and coated with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C. Thumbs up all around. All the parties involved with this Los Angeles flooring installation and refinishing project - interior designers, project managers and country club administrators - were super happy with the outcome.

Marcos and his team are awesome! We own a home built in 1933 and upon ripping up the carpets found very old hardwood floor. We wanted to keep the original floor but it had some damage. Marcos' team was able to refinish the existing floor and find new wood that completely matched with the existing floor for those small areas that needed it. To help me choose which color stain I wanted, they stained small sections with different shades so I could see what it would look like on the actual floor. This was so helpful. He came out for an estimate and his estimate was fair for the work being done. I'm sure I could have wasted my time by calling around for other estimates, but I doubt the finished product would have been as beautiful.
