Pasadena End Grain Flooring Installation + Rubio Monocoat
The homeowners of a historical 1951 mid century modern home in the Los Angeles suburb of Pasadena wanted to install very unique floors. After much consideration and research they chose to go with an end grain Mesquite floors for the main living area of the home. Each piece was hand installed, piece-by-piece throughout a 900 sq/ft living room. Once the installation was completed the dustless sanding process took place.
Because of the nature of this custom flooring product, the sanding process was done a little differently as opposed to how we would handle sanding a standard hardwood floor. With end grain wood floors, we typically trowel-fill the floor twice using sanding dust as our filler to fill any gaps. We mainly used our planetary sanders to eliminate any sanding scratches and the result was flawless. In order to preserve the natural beauty of the end grain mesquite floor we finished them with 3 coats of the Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C hardwax oil. If you are looking for an extremely hard and durable hardwood floor, end grain should be your choice.

Marcos did an awesome job on our floors. He is honest. He does quality work. He really exceeded my expectations in every way. After our white oak floors were done they were perfect.
