Studio City End Grain Douglas Fir Floor Installation + Woca Oil
One of the many benefits of working in Los Angeles, is that we’re fortunate enough to work on some pretty special projects and this one was no exception! The original owners of this 1939 mid century home were none other than Mary and Lee Blair, whose whimsical artwork has enchanted generations of Disney fans.
The new homeowners wanted something different and durable, which would also complement the home’s stunning Harwell Hamilton Harris architecture, so we introduced a Douglas Fir end grain as a possible option. After seeing samples, our clients choose to use the material throughout the main living space. Approximately 800 sq/ft of the end grain floors were supplied, installed and finished on site using WOCA Oil, per the flooring manufacturer’s recommendation. After a meticulous sanding process the end result of this special and historic Studio City, Los Angeles hardwood floor is absolutely gorgeous.

My wife and I recently bought a 106 yr old craftsman home with 106 yr old floors. We knew the floors needed some attention before we moved in so we started asking around.
